| QC Inspector (Mechanical) - Based in - Saudi Arabia Posted: 10 Jun 2011 05:00 AM PDT To perform inspection and reporting activities relating to welding/rotating equipment and pump machine issues in construction, and be responsible for all quality levels of field work. • Verify that incoming materials meet the numbers delivered, size/dimension, and chemical content for tolerance • Acts as an internal independent party for the verification of quality welds and ensure that incoming materials match specifications. • Check for weld joint preparations, fit-up alignment, dimensional tolerances, and visual checks on welds • Liaise with NDT sub-contractors on radiography tests, etc. • View and interpret radiograph films before review by client's inspectors. • Follow-up on corrective action on non-conforming products. • Prepare and compile inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and other quality-related reports. • Monitor welders' performance and the welding procedures to check for compliance. • Witness and verify the welding procedures' qualification tests and welders' performance qualification tests. • Must have good exposure and sound technical knowledge with respect to equipment areas.

Maintain daily reports and log of daily activities. • Review the following procedures: earthwork, excavation and backfill, concrete, concrete construction, grouting, masonry, paving, installation, erection, construction and fencing. • Ensure monitoring/surveillance activities are being conducted on an ongoing basis. • Witness and hold points identified in the concrete quality, checking slumps, temperature, delivery times, kind of mix (SRP & Portland) and if concrete are poured within the allotted time. • Post concrete inspection - check form work removal, curing, checks for honey comb or cracks. • Surveillance installation of underground and above ground protection. • Support the Project Management Team and QA/QC Manager.
